Walk FAQs

Please note, GK Manchester Walks business is currently in the process of setting up and is due to launch on 22nd June 2026. No walks are available until then; however, advance bookings and enquiries can be made in the run up to June.

Discover Manchester - its stories, skylines and secret corners, with guided walks created by George Kiszely.

Whether you’re a company seeking to provide a novel wellbeing or team building activity for your employees, or an individual or group looking for a fun pursuit, George’s walks will fit the bill.

About George Kiszely

George Kiszely

I’m George Kiszely, and for several years now I have been combining two passions - walking and Manchester’s history - to create and lead guided walks as a wellbeing activity for colleagues in my city-centre workplace. Crucially, the walks also raised money for the Wood Street Mission, a local charity that supports children and families living in poverty across Manchester and Salford.

These are city tours created with care - each walk is crafted around a theme, from ‘Amazing Architecture’, to ‘Manchester Music Sites’ and the ‘Wonderful and the Weird’. They reveal places and details that most people pass every day without noticing. They bring the city to life - its history, architecture, secret and hidden places and stories, with wow-factor facts, quirky curiosities and intriguing symbols that give Manchester its unique character.

Whilst continuing to support the Wood Street Mission, I am now expanding my walks to a wider audience. For local companies and organisations, I can provide my walks as a wellbeing activity for employees, as well as offering them to individuals, groups, friends, families and visitors.

50% of the proceeds from every walk go to the Wood Street Mission charity.

Why I support the Wood Street Mission

I have total admiration for the Wood Street Mission - it makes a huge difference to the lives of local children and their families. Given the charity’s place in the history of the city, for over 150 years, it’s totally fitting that my walks support this great Manchester institution.

I’d love you to join me on a journey of discovery and see the city with fresh eyes.
